Service provided

The noteslah website is a platform for (a) contributors to upload and share independently created outlines, notes, study guides, mock questions, flash cards, cheat sheets, marked essays, presentation slide decks (collectively referred to as “study notes”) to the public royalty-free and for (b) beneficiaries to download these notes free-of-charge.

noteslah does not own, acquire, sell, license/sublicense any interest in the products sold through noteslah website. noteslah does not take ownership of any goods and services transmitted through its’ website.

noteslah does not take any responsibility for the performance of students based on products purchased on the website. noteslah does not take responsibility for the quality, authenticity or accuracy of material sold on its’ website. noteslah does not allow buyers to copy or distribute material purchased from the website to other parties.

noteslah may, but is not obliged to review uploaded study notes on the website. We may prohibit any study notes from being published and remove any user content at any time.

When submitting study material to noteslah, you grant noteslah consent to provide your material to third party users.

You represent and warrant that you own the study notes you are uploading onto noteslah, and that by posting study notes, you are not violating the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights or any other rights of any person or entity.

You are also soley responsible for the study notes you upload, to noteslah and that you transmit to other users of noteslah.

The study notes shall survive any expiration or termination of your relationship with noteslah.

Membership

If a person agrees to these Terms, they may sign up to be a Member of the noteslah website.

noteslah reserves the unrestricted right to refuse Membership and to suspend, terminate or restrict a Member's use of the noteslah website.

Membership is non-transferrable and you agree to not disclose your username or password to any other person.

Contributing notes

Each time you upload your study notes, you represent and warrant that:

You have all legal rights necessary to upload that study notes (including all Intellectual Property Rights in and to the study notes) onto noteslah;
Uploading and displaying on the noteslah website does not infringe the rights, including Intellectual Property Rights, of any other person.

Users of noteslah, agree to exclude any study notes made available to them by their school, professor, instructor, tutor, board of examination, or any other publisher whose works have been used as part of studies. All content that has been created, must be independently created, transformative and non-derivative.

It should go beyond summarising the material covered in class, and include independent analysis and commentary.

You are responsible for becoming familiar with University/school policy and all relevant laws, and abiding by them.

Liability and rules of use

When you access or use the noteslah website, you agree:

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of noteslah complies with all relevant laws;
You will not hold noteslah liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result of your use of the noteslah website, whether or not that loss or damage was caused by noteslah or another user of the noteslah website;
You will not use the noteslah website to infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of another person;
You will not hold noteslah liable for any infringement of your Intellectual Property Rights;
To the extent legally permitted, noteslah disclaims all warranties, representations, conditions, guarantees and terms other than those expressly set out here, express or implied;
You will not hold noteslah responsible for the accuracy or opinions expressed in the study notes posted or provided by third parties on, and noteslah website is not necessarily investigated, monitored or checked for accuracy or completeness by noteslah;
You agree that the inclusion of any linked website or service on the noteslah website does not imply approval or endorsement of the linked website or service by noteslah. Material appearing on noteslah is not endorsed as a direct replacement for attending lectures, and taking notes yourself. Notes should always be checked against a subjects’ syllabus to ensure they comply with the outcomes for the subject;
You indemnify noteslah (and its employees and officers) against any Loss suffered or incurred by, and any Claim made by any party, arising from or in connection with your use of the noteslah website, or your breach of these Terms and Conditions;
You unconditionally release noteslah (and its employees and officers) from any liability or obligation (known and unknown) relating to or in connection with any dispute you have with another user of the noteslah website
You will not post any false, misleading, threatening, defamatory or indecent material on the noteslah website;
You will not distribute viruses to or through the noteslah website, impose an unreasonable load on noteslah’s servers, use a robot, spider or scraper to harvest material (including email addresses) from the noteslah website or bypass any measure used to prevent and control access to the noteslah website;
noteslah does not guarantee continuous, error-free access to the noteslah website.

When you own the copyright to any of these works, you control the use and commercial exploitation of these works. This means that you have the right to prevent others from reproducing, publishing, performing, communicating to the public, or adapting your work. By uploading and contributing your study notes onto noteslah, you consent to give noteslah and its members permission to use and download the study notes.

Intellectual property rights owners can solely report infringing content. Should you not be the rights owner, you can reach out to the rights owner to inform them of the breach.

If you are the rights owner, and believe content has been posted without your consent, please contact noteslah. To report violated content, please email the details of the content with the subject line “Notes infringement” to us and we will investigate. Kindly include the following information:

Physical or electronic signature;
Identification of infringed work;
Identification of infringed material;
Contact information for complainant;
Statement that the information contained in the notification is accurate.

Upon receipt of such notification, noteslah may remove the infringing material, cancel the contributor's membership and ban the individual from using noteslah.

Privacy Policy describes to you what information we collect, how we share that information, and your choices with regards to that information.

Personal Information

Information such as contact details, fields of study, electronic copied notes, may be collected for the purposes of organizing the sellers notes;
Information such as your interaction with the website may be collected to improve the service.

Uses of Information

Notes and information sent to noteslah may be changed to comply with copyright laws;
Personal Information may be used to send you marketing information.

General

These Terms and Conditions form the entire agreement between you and noteslah, superseding any previous agreements.

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable, such a provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in force. Delay or failure for noteslah to enforce a provision of these Terms and Conditions or any other right does not constitute a waiver of that provision or right.

noteslah may amend these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting the updated terms on the noteslah website. The amended terms take effect when you access the noteslah website or after 30 days, whichever is sooner. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must not continue to use the noteslah website.

noteslah may assign the benefit of these Terms and Conditions without limitation.

These Terms of Use, including the associated noteslah Privacy Policy and other applicable noteslah policies published on our website, set out the policies, rules, and conditions that govern your use of our website and the services provided thereby, regardless of whether you are a registered user or a guest. By using the website or the services, you agree to the Terms of Use.

If you do not agree to the Terms of Use, you are not authorized to use the noteslah website or the services provided thereby and you must cease all such use immediately.
